The following is a scanned portion of the electrical diagram for my 1978 JX-S.

The components are identified as follows:
47 Water temperature transmitter sensor.
191 A/C Thermostat. (This is the unit the coils in the A/C heater matrix).
67 In line fuse bolted to the passenger (right) side of the A/C heater matrix.
262 A/C Servo.
33 A/C Blower.
190 A/C Compressor clutch.
192 A/C Control switch (right side of the radio)
263 A/C Vacuum valve.
265 A/C Ambient sensor.
264 A/C In car sensor.
Note the two arrows pointing to diodes D5 and D4. I am convinced that one or both is feeding 12 volts back to Radiator electrical fan, on a green/brown wire (GN), which runs all the time.
Problem is I can't find the diodes. Does anyone know where the darn things are?
This is a photo of the small circuit board which has a diode and resistor on it. It was located at the passanger side footwell below the HVAC matrix.
They do not appear to be wired together, just sharing the same board.
The diode was wired to white/brown and white green wires.
The resistor to brown and white/orange wires.
BTW this diode tested good.
